After an ultra-sharp rally off the June lows many risk assets such as equities are now nearing the upper end of their trading ranges. Markets are in a wide bear market trading range, and that does provide ample opportunity.
At this point in the business cycle the SPY etf is a better short than the QQQ etf given that plenty of sectors within the SPY are in bullish trends.
