Yahoo slowly setting up for a bounce YHOO

Yahoo! is currently valued at nothing or even negative as YHOO stock  doesn’t even represent the company’s stake in Alibaba. Through a technical lens too the stock is nearing a good support spot. Here is my take. Watch the short video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PpQ5rnsH48

Consumer discretionary stocks wave a warning flag

The bears have a deteriorating consumer discretionary sector going for themselves. We can gain lots of perspective by drawing so called ratio charts where we divide one security by another. The case for ‘medium-term swing trading’

So you want to be a trader but between a job, family and friends, hobbies and more, you are finding it nearly impossible to make enough time for this venture, much less get into any type of a rhythm. Not to worry, that’s an issue many if not most traders face when they get started. […]

Quarter-end games in sight

With the Alibaba IPO priced, US equities closed the week last Friday near the flat line as the options expiration date did its best to chop traders back and forth. The week went to the bulls. However, the notable weakness in the small capitalisation space gives bears some hope as we enter a fresh five […]

Video: How to trade Alibaba once it launches…or just let it settle…

What do you think Alibaba shares will do immediately after they go on sale on Friday? Take off like a rocket or dive as the initial excitement fades? After Tuesday’s rally and Wednesday’s flat-lining of the index, the conundrum remains, but with the near-term odds going to the bulls. In essence, the index remains basing above the 1’980  – 1’985 area, which previously acted as resistance.  […]

Since March FSLR has built a clear line of resistance, which it now is finally overcoming, and that could lead to a meaningful move higher. Watch the short […]

Multiple time-frame conundrum of S&P 500

US equities closed last week on a weak note, with all of the major indices and all ten sectors of the S&P 500 closing lower on the day. Weakness into a weekend is something that traders rarely like to see as, unless one also positions defensively into the weekend, any follow-through selling the following Monday […]

How to trade the autumn months

[youtube id=”7XR5QbOIgjs”] The autumn months have the propensity to bring about an uptick in volatility, which for the active investing and trading crowd can spell opportunity. Here is how I am looking to trade the autumn period.

See both sides: The bull case

In Wednesday’s video, I discussed the two sides of the current US market structure: the bull case and the bear case. For the record, I still see good potential for this market to put in a cyclical top sooner rather than later, particularly as this could coincide with a seasonally more difficult market in coming […]
